Material property
2017 is a typical duralumin alloy in the aluminum-copper-magnesium system, which has reasonable composition and good comprehensive properties. Many countries produce this alloy, which is the largest amount of duralumin. The alloy is characterized by high strength, certain heat resistance, and can be used as working parts below 150°C. At temperatures above 125°C, the 2017 alloy has a higher strength than the 7075 alloy. The formability in hot state, annealing state and new quenching state is better, and the heat treatment strengthening effect is remarkable, but the heat treatment process is strict. The corrosion resistance is poor, but the coating with pure aluminum can be effectively protected; Cracks are easy to occur when welding, but special processes can be welded and riveted.
