What is the role of U-type heat exchanger

U-type heat exchanger is a kind of tube heat exchanger, the working principle of the heat exchanger is that the heat is transferred from the high temperature end to the low temperature end. Each steel pipe in the pipe path of the U-tube heat exchanger is bent into a U-shape, and both ends of the steel pipe are installed on the same side of the same fixed tube plate. The head is divided into two rooms with a partition, and each pipe can automatically shrink. It is not related to other pipes and housings, even if the temperature difference between the shell and the pipe is large. U-tube heat exchangers are often used to circulate water to cool high temperature gases in actual production. After corrosion or leakage of heat exchanger pipeline, only the core can be replaced, but it is not suitable for cleaning.
The typical structural characteristics of U-tube heat exchangers are: there is only one tube plate, the tube bundle is composed of a plurality of U-shaped tubes, the two ends of the tube are fixed on the same plate, the pipe can be freely telescoped, when the shell and U-type heat exchange tube have temperature differences, there will be no thermal stress.
Due to the limitation of the curvature radius of the bend, the heat exchange tube discharge is less, the inner tube distance of the tube bundle is large, the utilization rate of the tube plate is low, and the fluid short circuit of the shell is not conducive to heat transfer. When the pipeline leaks and damages, only the U-shaped tube outside the tube bundle can be replaced, and the internal heat exchange tube is damaged and can only be blocked, and the U-shaped tube damage is equivalent to the damage of two tubes, and the scrapping rate is higher.
U-tube heat exchanger is simple in structure, cheap in price and strong in bearing capacity. It is suitable for occasions where the temperature difference of pipe wall is large or the shell medium is easy to scale and need to be cleaned. It is not suitable for floating head type and fixed tube plate. Especially suitable for high temperature, high pressure, corrosive pipe cleaning materials, not easy to scale.
